so yesterday I changed my email notification on my phone to mario saying “here we gooOOO!!!!” which is like yknow super fun and exciting but anyway I was at work and I left my phone in my bag because I have no pockets on my outfit. I work a campus job where it’s like half office space but also half open lobby overlooking the university library. I leave my bag to go run an errand. meanwhile, evidently, I just got BOMBARDED with emails. I come back to the office and my boss is going fuckin nuts. he’s asking, “WHERE IS MARIO??? WHERE IS HE?” and then, just when it finally gets quiet…
every day in fearne’s head is just like: i’m a baby. i’m a threat. i’m a mother. i’m a slut. i am chaos itself. i am just vibing. i am on a singular mission to kill god. i want milk with my whiskey. i’m a queen. i’m a newborn faun. time is a weird soup. i’m the nicest person you’ll ever meet. i’m stealing from your home in front of you. i’m with a business. i’m here alone. i’m lost in a forest. i am the forest and the forest is me. i’m a god. the abyss blinked first. god is dead and i slit his throat. i made flower crowns for my friends c:
maybe this is just me being baby but like. watching squid game was really hard for me. i could barely sit through it like, okay, i dont have a weak stomach for gore or death, some of my favorite films are slashers, etc. but watching squid game made me feel sick in ways very few movies/shows have ever made me feel and i do think part of that was because the vast majority of the characters were people who looked like my family, like my mom and uncle and cousin and grandparents, and the whole point of it all was brutality. brutality, cruelity, wanton loss of life in horrific, blunt ways was the crux of the show: a well-written, well-organized, well-acted massacre. and the writers + editors did a fantastic job of showcasing that and i dont want to take away from what they did, but like that brutality only truly works if you understand the fictional characters as human, equals, would-be peers, fellows, etc, which, duh! obviously!
but like. hearing white people online talk about it with glee and excitement, eagerly awaiting the next game, just. really makes me doubt if they could process that. if they could see the asian characters as equally human as themselves. i dont think they did.
actually im not done sorry but where does it end? how long has the pain and suffering of asian people been a casually accepted product of the violence of those in power in the west? the wars waged in SK (an occupied country!) and elsewhere in asia to turn the east into a hypercapitalist powerhouse for western benefit? this has been true for years and if you dont believe that you should see how white people to this day drool over shit like MASH or any fucking war show set in west asia. asian pain and exploitation is a glorified prop for the west. and then a bunch of asian people decide to tell a story, for themselves, about hypercapitalist brutality and asian suffering for western entertainment, and it puts the suffering at the forefront, no longer a plot device. the suffering is the point. you are not allowed to forget it. and somehow everyone just decided to look past that, to fandomize it, to exploit the story about exploitation into something digestible and fun. which is so, deeply, immensely, incomprehensibly fucked up.
hey shout the fuck out to. dragons. people dont talk enough about dragons on this site. theyre sick as fuck and they do so much for everyone aged 4-84 w undiagnosed autism. be grateful

what’s your ‘thing’ as a friend. i don’t mean like 'oh im the mom friend’ i mean like what’s the Thing where if one of your friends was looking for a specific interaction they’d message you first. personally i can always be relied upon to get hyped about bugs, literature, and cursed internet images.
